Isobel's Wedding

I have just read a book called 'Isobel's Wedding'. The book was written by Sheila O'Flanagan. The book was a romance novel and it was a fantastic book to read.

The book had text that was easy to read and understand. The storyline in this book had me hooked from the very first page, i was unable to put the book down. I was always kept guessing i was never sure if Isobel would ever get the man she wanted and live happily ever after.

The book was all about Isobel. Isobel was engaged to Tim and was ready to marry the man that she loved so much. Isobel had every arrangement for the wedding organised and she had even made her own wedding dress. After sewing on four hundred and twenty tiny white pearls her dress was ready and Isobel was happy. Isobel was standing looking at herself , dressed in the magical dress in the mirror when her sister burst through her bedroom door and said that Tim was on the telephone. Tim begged Isobel to go and see him, he wanted to talk to her about something. Tim told Isobel that it was important and that it couldn't wait. Worrying Isobel agreed and when she arrived to see Tim she knew that something was wrong. Tim had told Isobel that ahe wasn't ready to get married and that he wanted to call off the wedding. With only two weeks to go Isobel was devastated. Isobel decided that she wanted a fresh start. Isobel packed up her clothes and her personal belongings and moved to Spain. With a new job and a new life in Spain Isobel began to try and get her life back on track. After coming home for a family funeral Isobel bumoed in to Tim again. After many conversations they decided to give things another go. Isobel went back to her life in Spain for a while and made all the arrangements to move back home and get married. Isobel had to leave the job that she loved, and all the friends that she had made, but everyone was happy for haer and this made the decisions all the more easier to make. After saying her goodbyes Isobel boarded the plane home. After making so many sacrifices for Tim was the wedding to go ahead without a hitch second time round? I can only say read the book and find out you may just be a little surprised.

I give this book a rating of five. What a fantastic story of love and happiness. Well done the author. More books like this one please.

A Man Named Dave

I have recently read a book called 'A Man Named Dave'. The book was written by Dave Pelzer. The book was a true story and was part of the 'A Child Called It' series. Hankies at the ready readers this is very emotional story.

The book had text that was easy to read and understand. The story kept you hooked from the very first page. The book is emotional and upsetting but it is a fantastic book to read and i would recommend it to anyone.

The story was about a young man named Dave. As Dave was growing up he was never respected by his family and was in and out of foster homes for most of his life. As the story goes on you learn more and more about the success this young man had made of his life. At eighteen Dave enlisted in the Airforce, he had always wanted to do this as a young boy. However enlisting in the Airforce was not easy for Dave as he had no academics behind him but he did succeed. Dave then met a young lady and he feel in love. They soon moved in together and Dave was soon welcoming his baby son Stephen into the world. Such a happy occassion for Dave and his wife but still his mother and family didn't want to know. However Dave's happiness was to be short lived as Dave and his wife split up and Dave was on his own again woth only the visits from his young son to look forward to. Dave was to be happy once again however when he feel in love with the lady who was helping him get the book which he had written ready for publishing. Was Dave to get a second chance at happiness and succeed second time round? I would strongy recommend that you read this book and find out it really is fantastic.

I give this book a star rating of five. It was a great book to read. It was an emotional story that pulled on the heart strings. Many tears appeared throughout this book but were they tears of happiness or tears of sorrow and pain? Who knows only reading the book will help you decide. Happy Reading

The Lost Boy

I have recently read the most amazing book called 'The Lost Boy'. This book was written by Dave Pelzer. The book was a true story and was part of the 'A Child Called It' sequel.

The book had text that was easy to read and understand. The storyline kept you hooked from the very first page. I felt that the book at homehad a very emotional storyline. I was upset at a few things in the book however it was fantastic reading and i couldn't put the book down.

The story was about a young lad named Dave. As Dave was growing up he was never respected at home. The story followed Dave in his emotional journey to find the love of a real family. With all the possessions that he owned in a a torn carrier bag, Dave was rescued from the alcoholic mother who was physically abusing him and placed in foster care. In this story Dave relives his life as Dave the foster child, in and out of various different homes. Dave was constantly made to feel as though he was unloved and unwanted. All through the book Dave never seemed to have any good things happen to him, he was accused of trying to set fire to a classroom, he was beaten up by other kids at school and he was banned from seeing his brothers and family. Dave always hoped that he would find the love of a real family, but did this happy occasion ever come and did Dave ever find the love of a real family?

I give this book a rating of five it was a fantastic story that done nothong but pull on the heart strings. I hav to say i did have a few tears appear but it was a very emotional story. Well Done! to the author.

These Foolish Things

I have recently read a book called 'These Foolish Things'. The book was written by Deborah Moggach. This book was a fantasy book and was set within a nursing home in Bangalore.

The writing in this book was very small but i never had to much trouble reading it. The book had a humourous storyline and i thoroughly enjoyed reading it, i was hooked from the very first page.

The book was all about Ravi Kapoor. Ravi was a doctor who worked in London. Ravi had his life turned upside down when his wife allowed her father to come and stay. Ravi wanted to send his obnoxious and rude father in law to stay in a nursing home, but none of the nursing homes in England would take him. Ravi was finding it hard to live with his father in law but was fast running out of options. Ravi was discussing his problem with his cousin and they soon came uo with a plan. Ravi and Sonny went in to business together and opened a retirement home in Bangalore. Ravi managed with some gentle persuasion to get Norman his father in law to give the home a go. Norman spent some fantastic days out in Bangalore and was happier than he had been for ages. Two weeks before Christmas and that was al about to change. Norman decided that he wanted one last bit of fun and off he set in search of his ast bit of fun. This was all too much for Norman and tragedy struck. What was Norman upto?

I give this book a star rating of five it was a fantastic book to read.

Dont Make Me Laugh

I have recently read an adventure and thriller book. The book was called 'Dont Make Me Laugh'. The book was part of the quick read collection and was written by Patrick Augustus. The quick read collection is many short sorybooks that have fantastic storylines. I wouldn't recommend this one though.

The book had text that was easy to read but the story was really difficult to follow, there were to many versions of the same event. Each member of the family told their side of the story and they each told it differently.

The book was all about twins Leo and Trevor. Leo and Trevor were seperated when they were babies. They were reunited after twenty seven years. You would think that families would celebrate at a time like this, not these two though theyw ere brothers at war. Leo accused Trevor of sleeping woth his wife and he was out to get revenge. Leo and Trevor's mother was the only person that could stop Leo from hurting Trevor but was he going to listen to the lady who gave away her baby sons'. Leo and Trevor's mother had a terrible secret from the past that one of her new found sons had to die, but which one? If you are looking for a challenging book to read then this one would be a great choice.

I would give this book a rating of three as i found it really hard to follow the story.
