The Falls

I have recently read a book called ' The Falls'. The falls was written by Ian Rankine. The book was a crime novel and it was set in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

The book had text that was easy to read. The book had a gripping storyline and it kept you guessing all the way through, i was never sure what would happen next.

The book was all about John Rebus. John Rebus was a police officer with the Lothian Borders Police Force. John started investigating the disappearance of Phillippa Balfour. During the investigation John came across many strange things. Firstly John and the other police officers began questioning neighbours of Phillipa, friends and family but noone had any clues to the whereabouts of Phillipa. When they removed Phillipas computer for detailed checks they discovered that she was playing a game online. Nobody had heard of the game. Quizmaster was to baffle the police. One of John's colleagues decided that she would play the game to see if they could find out more information about Quizmaster. Meanwhile John decided that he was going to try and discover a connection between the small coffins left on Arthur Seat and the small coffin left at The Falls. John and the rest of the police officers working on Phillippas disappearance soon got some unwelcomed bad news. Phillipa had been found dead on Arthur Seat. Phillippa had been strangled. Who was Phillippas killer and did this murder have anything to do with the coffins and Quizmaster. All i can say is read the book. Fantastic story and a terrific ending.

The book strongly deserves a star rating of five. What a fantastic book and an ending to a story that was worth waiting for. A book i would recommend it ti anyone.
